A look back at the Lamborghini Aventador SV and its jaw-dropping entrance

Gene Bernshtam is an avid fan of classic cars and supercars. In fact, he is part of a few prestigious groups of enthusiasts. In today’s blog, Gene Bernshtam looks back at one of the most jaw-dropping supercars to have roared into the scene in the 2010s, the Lamborghini Aventador SV.

The Aventador SV was first officially shown to the public in 2015. That same year, it was featured in the Geneva Motor Show. There were only 600 units of the Aventador SV (SV meaning 'Super Veloce' or 'extremely fast') released, and it has since been considered as one of the best supercars ever made.

While the Aventador has been released before, the SV version is quite different. The SV has a much better aerodynamic design and is approximately 110 pounds lighter than the normal version, which means the SV is a machine that is both faster and boasts of better handling.

Gene Bernshtam adds that the front and rear dashboard panels and the giant rear wing are examples of masterful aerodynamic design that provide more substantial downforce. Plus, the SV’s quad exhaust means more output compared to the hexagonal version found in the normal Aventador.

As for the SV’s body, like a lot of the most astounding supercars, it is mostly made of carbon fiber. Even the monocoque chassis is also carbon fiber fitted on carbon fiber, mounted with forged wheels and carbon ceramic brakes. As with a lot of Lamborghini models, the Aventador SV is an all-wheel-drive supercar, with 750 horses under its hood, and can reach top speeds of 217 mph.
